Pregnancy & Postpartum Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Wherever You Are in the Journey: You're Welcome Here
Trying to conceive? Newly pregnant? Counting down the days until baby arrives? Recently postpartum? Or somewhere in between? Have you considered having a pelvic floor physical therapist as part of your healthcare team?
If not, I'm so glad you're here.
Pregnancy and postpartum are incredible seasons of life—but they also place unique demands on your body. My goal is to help you move well, feel strong, prepare confidently for birth, and recover with the support you deserve. Every stage brings different needs, and together we'll create a plan that meets you exactly where you are.
Trying to Conceive
The preconception phase is one of the best times to begin pelvic floor physical therapy.
Before pregnancy, we'll establish a baseline by looking at your strength, mobility, fitness level, movement patterns, and any pain or physical limitations that may affect your pregnancy or postpartum recovery.
Building a strong, healthy foundation before conception can improve your comfort throughout pregnancy, support labor and delivery, and enhance postpartum recovery. Together, we'll prepare your body to support both you and your growing baby.
Early Pregnancy
The first trimester often brings significant physical changes, and every pregnancy is different.
Whether you're managing fatigue, nausea, or simply wondering what's safe, I'll help you build movement and exercise routines that support both your current needs and the months ahead.
We'll discuss safe exercise, strength training, running, lifting, breathing strategies, and daily movement modifications so you can stay active with confidence throughout your pregnancy whenever medically appropriate.
Mid to Late Pregnancy
As your body continues to change, your plan will evolve with it.
During this stage, we'll discuss when and how to modify your exercise routine, adjust intensity, prioritize mobility, and manage the physical demands of late pregnancy.
We'll also spend dedicated time preparing your body for birth. Birth preparation is about much more than labor positions—it includes pelvic floor awareness, breathing, pushing strategies, mobility, positioning, and helping your body move efficiently during delivery. This is one of the most valuable—and often overlooked—parts of pregnancy care.
Postpartum Recovery
Postpartum isn't just the first six weeks—it's a season of healing, rebuilding, and adapting that looks different for every woman.
Giving birth changes your body physically, mentally, emotionally, and structurally. Those changes don't mean you're broken or that your best days are behind you. Recovery isn't about "getting your body back." It's about helping you build a body that feels strong, capable, and confident for this next chapter.
This season is often centered around caring for your baby, but you deserve care too.
Whether we've worked together throughout your pregnancy or you're meeting me for the first time after delivery, I'm here to support your recovery every step of the way.
In the early weeks, this may include an in-home visit to help optimize your environment for healing and caring for your newborn. We'll look at feeding positions, sleeping arrangements, changing stations, lifting mechanics, breathing, gentle mobility, and strategies to reduce unnecessary strain on your healing body.
As your recovery progresses, we'll safely rebuild strength, restore core and pelvic floor function, and gradually return to the activities you love. Whether your goal is returning to the gym, running, competitive sports, or simply keeping up with your kids without pain or leaking, we'll create a plan designed specifically for you.
You Don't Have to Navigate This Alone
Pregnancy and postpartum come with plenty of unexpected twists and turns. While many aches, pains, and discomforts are common, they don't always have to be something you simply "live with."
Pelvic floor physical therapy can help prevent many common pregnancy-related issues, reduce symptoms, improve movement, and support a smoother recovery after birth.
I'd be honored to be part of your care team and walk alongside you through every season—from preparing for pregnancy to confidently returning to the life and activities you love.
I can't wait to meet you.
