Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Just because it's COMMON doesn't mean it's NORMAL.
Leaking when you laugh. Pain with intimacy. Feeling pressure or heaviness. Low back pain that won't go away. Constantly searching for the nearest bathroom. Difficulty returning to exercise after having a baby. These and so many other experiences are incredibly common—but they are not something you simply have to live with.
Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized area of physical therapy focused on evaluating and treating the muscles, connective tissue, nerves, joints, breathing patterns, and movement strategies that influence the pelvis and core. At Haven Health, we look beyond your symptoms to understand the why behind them, allowing us to create a treatment plan that's individualized, evidence-based, and designed to help you achieve lasting results.
Whether you're preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, navigating menopause, returning to running, or simply trying to live without pain, we're here to help you move with confidence again.
What is a "pelvic floor" anyway?
Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues that form the base of your pelvis. These muscles work together with your diaphragm, abdominal muscles, hips, and spine to provide support, stability, continence, sexual function, and healthy bowel and bladder function.
Just like any other muscle in the body, the pelvic floor can become weak, overactive, painful, uncoordinated, or injured. Contrary to popular belief, not every pelvic floor problem is caused by weakness. In many cases, symptoms develop because the muscles are too tense, poorly coordinated, or compensating for dysfunction elsewhere in the body.

This is why a comprehensive evaluation is so important.
